Added

• Assign Table Roles workbench: build prefix or regular-expression rules per

role, preview live matches, unmatched tables, and conflicts across the whole model, then apply hundreds of role assignments in one explicit, undoable action. Opens from Tools → Assign Table Roles…, from the Objects sidebar's Assign roles action, and from Infer Model Settings' new Apply & assign roles… option.

• Team Rules is now a general-purpose visual validation workbench: build

rules from a target, an Apply to scope, and a Must satisfy check, combining conditions with nested AND/OR/NOT groups and shared expressions/variables. Generate an editable rule snapshot directly from Model Settings, and store rule packs either embedded in the model file or as an independent, reusable file.

• Product overview page at `/about`: a public, readable page describing what

the tool does, who it's for, verified capabilities and current limits, data handling and privacy, and the steps from a new model to a saved file, linked from the Help menu.

• Word-style custom role colors: pick any exact color for a table role from a

compact "More colors" popover, alongside the existing six quick colors.

• Batch Actions: Expand all and Collapse all controls for the grouped table

checklist.

Improved

• Homepage title and metadata wording clarified for search and sharing,

without narrowing the product to Data Vault only.

Fixed

• The site's shared social-preview image (shown when a link to the tool is

shared) is now an actual screenshot of the diagram canvas instead of a near-blank image.

Compatibility

Model XML moves to version 6; version 5 files continue to open normally, and the new Assign Table Roles rules/exceptions and optional embedded Team Rules pack are additive. Standalone project-settings XML stays version 2; files without the new role-assignment rules/exceptions simply start without them. Team Rules pack files move to version 2; existing version-1 rule-pack files still import and are migrated automatically. No file is rejected by this release.

Desktop Chrome and Edge remain the supported browsers. Model files and project settings are processed locally.

The first public beta of Data Modelling Tool is now available.

Data Modelling Tool is a browser-based visual editor for designing physical data models for Snowflake.

Privacy and data

Model files are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded to a service controlled by this project.

The application does not collect analytics or telemetry.

Please keep your own backups of important model files.

Browser support

v0.1 supports:

• Desktop Google Chrome
• Desktop Microsoft Edge

Mobile devices and other browsers are not supported or guaranteed in this release.

Known limitations

• This is a public beta and may contain bugs.
• Models are not stored in the cloud.
• There are no user accounts or collaboration features.
• Snowflake is the only supported database platform.
• Very large diagrams may have reduced performance.
• Mobile layouts are not supported.
